Nigeria has enjoyed warm and cordial relations with the UAE since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2007. Nigeria’s relations with the UAE over the years have explored various areas of mutual interests thereby deriving mutual benefits. Some of these areas include Trade and Investment, Legal, Energy, Bilateral Air Service Agreements (BASA) to mention a few. The cordial relation of the two countries is further accentuated by the existence of a number of Agreements and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) that has continued to strengthen and deepen cooperation in various fields and at various levels. Also, a considerable number of Nigerians are resident in the UAE with good jobs and businesses that translates to a huge Foreign Direct Investment form the UAE to Nigeria.
